Inspiration House – a new ecology ministry takes root west of Boston
Carol Hohle, Andover Newton MAPR Graduate ‘2008, is tiling the ground and planting the seeds of an ecology community ministry. Carol’s organization - Inspiration House, nurtures spiritual vitality in her community through a resource-filled website, virtual workshops, lectures, and in-person discussions and retreats, all developed around the topic of eco-spirituality. Carol works with faith-based and environmental organizations, serving the Weston Climate Group, First Parish Green, Land’s Sake farm, Religious Witness for the Earth, and the Massachusetts Interfaith Climate Action Network. Her non-profit management experience and spirit-lead education combine to emphasize the importance of the interconnectivity of all life. Her eco-ministry encourages “right-sizing” within creation – learning to happily live with less, reconnecting with the natural world, and loving one another more fully. Her “Living Green” inter-active lecture is becoming popular in area churches and spiritual centers, and her virtual eco-spirituality group is drawing participants from across the United States.
Just eighteen months young, potential next steps for Inspiration House include incorporating as a non-profit organization and demonstrating some type of physical presence in town – perhaps as a café with locally grown foods & classroom!
